God gave Marg Pollon a vision and desire to provide opportunities for the local church to connect with the community. Due to this vision and her love for and passion to serve the Lord, BRIDGES OF LOVE MINISTRY was birthed in 2003; becoming a Society in July, 2004 and gained its Charitable Status in July, 2008. The vehicle to make this connecting bridge has varied over the years but the core message has remained constant. Christians must reflect God's love in order to be a visible witness to the watching world.
The GREAT COMMANDMENT, to love God and then our neighbour is essential to demonstrate tangible proof of God's existence - "Living Proof of a Loving God".
As with any great bridge, the structure can take many forms. The bridge which this ministry
has been building the past four years, has focused on Emergency/Pandemic Preparedness.
Dr. Tim Foggin, a Burnaby doctor invited Bridges of Love to help mobilize Canadian Churches
to be prepared with a Christian response. We thank Tim for his vision, setting the stage for
this endeavor, to become a reality. With a pandemic on our door step (2009), this out-break
has proven as an opportunity where the Christian Community can assist in observable ways.
