Winter Tires vs All Season Tires

A dilemma that many people struggle as winter driving conditions worsen, is whether it is necessary to purchase winter tires. The rubber on winter tires is designed with deeper treads compared to those of all-season tires. This give a much-needed grip on ice and snow in sub-zero temperatures. The tread on winter tires also allows for better traction and manoeuvrability, offering improved movement on wet or icy roads. Air pressure decreases in cold weather. Winter tires are less likely to lose air than all-season or summer tires. Check your tire pressure at least once a month as the temperature starts to drop.
